Sasha Mongin wins Premi Fotografia Femenina
Held from October 3 to 13, 2024 in Cadaqués, Spain, the InCadaqués festival features 25 exhibitions bringing together 35 authors from 19 different countries.
Â
Sasha Mongin, a 2017 graduate of the Bachelor Photographe et Vidéaste program, won the Premi Fotografia Femenina Fisheye x InCadaqués Prize, a competition celebrating women's vision in photography launched in partnership with Fisheye, with her series " Le Mourant qui ne mourrait pas ".
Â
Known for her play with nuance, blur and color, Sasha Mongin blurs the boundaries between reality and fantasy. With this highly personal series, Sasha Mongin plunges into the intimacy of her family history and childhood memories to talk about her father's illness.
Â
Her work will be exhibited throughout the festival.

"My father was infected with HIV through a blood transfusion in 1982, following heart surgery. AIDS allowed a rare virus to attack his brain, severely reducing his motor and speech abilities. I was 7 at the time, and the doctors gave him only a few months to live. But he proved them wrong: he's still with us today.
