Taurus Foundation for Art and Science
Taurus Prize for the Visual Arts
The Taurus Foundation supports the arts and sciences in Switzerland andabroad. To this end, it awards two prizes every two years: the Taurus Prize for the Visual Arts and the Taurus Prize for the Sciences. The first rewards a photographer or video artist for the originality and quality of his or her work.
The prize does not have a specific theme, but is dedicated to a territory, specific to each edition. The jury is selected on the basis of its knowledge of this territory. The prize is open to all photographers who are familiar with the chosen area, who are already working on the subject, or who are simply inspired by it.
For the 2023-2024 edition, the Nebbiu, a mountainous region of Haute-Corse, has been proposed to participants.
The winner will receive an endowment worth CHF 10,000, enabling him or her to travel to the research area to carry out the project. The winning project will be exhibited in Switzerland in 2025.
