Congratulations to Stephen Vuillemin, nominated for an Oscar for "Un genre de testament"!

"Un genre de testament",the first film by Stephen Vuillemin (Animated Film Designer and Director, class of 2008) has been shortlisted in the Animated short filmcategory. Of the 93 films that qualified, only 15 made the shortlist for the 96th Academy Awards.

 

The final nominations will be announced on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, and the ceremony will take place on Sunday, March 10, 2024.

 

Presented at the Berlin Film Festival and the Annecy Film Festival in 2023, "Un genre de testament" has been pre-selected for both the Césars and the Oscars in 2024!

 

The film was also recently awarded the Emile-Reynaud 2023 prize for French short film of the year.

Stephen Vuillemin began directing the film in 2016, without a crew or budget, before being co-produced by studio Remembers (co-founded by 2010 GOBELINS graduate Ugo Bienvenu) and Canal + 4 years later.

 

"Un genre de testament" featuresStephen's characteristic color palette of shades of gray and vivid colors,developed during his studies at GOBELINS.

 

 

 

 

 

 

A young woman discovers animations on the Internet, created from her and private selfies. A stranger with the same name confesses to having impersonated her. But death is quicker than the answer to the question: "Why?"
