Congratulations to Julien Chheng, nominated at the prestigious César ceremony in the " Best Animated Film " category for Ernest and Celestine: Journey to Charabia, which he co-directed with Jean-Christophe Roger.

A 2010 graduate of GOBELINS' Concepteur et Réalisateur de Films d'Animation program, Julien Chheng began his career with Titeuf as a 2D character animator.

After 6 months training in visual development at Disney' s Talent Development Program in Burbank, he joined the team behind the first Ernest and Celestine as a 2D animator.

In 2014, he founded La Cachette studio with Oussama Bouacheria and Ulysse Malassagne, two GOBELINS alumni, and co-directors of Royaume, their graduation film. He worked on the first season of Love, Death and Robots (Netflix) and on the multi-Emmy Award-winning series Primal, as producer and executive producer .

In 2015, he was contacted again by producer Didier Brunner , who suggested that he reunite with the two characters inspired by Gabrielle Vincent's universe to co-direct the series Ernest et Célestine with Jean-Christophe Roger. This collaboration will then lead in 2020 to a new feature film, Ernest et Célestine : Le voyage en Charabie, also in 2D.

See you on Friday, February 24 for the 48th César ceremony!
