22nd animated film festival honors GOBELINS alumni
Organized by the AFCA (Association Française du Cinéma d'Animation) from October 11 to 31, 2023, La Fête du cinéma d'animation celebrates animated cinema in all its forms and helps promote films and their makers.
La Fête de l'animation takes place all over France and in the cultural network abroad, with a variety of events including screenings, previews, meetings and the Emile Reynaud prize, all designed to bring creators and audiences together.
The program for this 22nd edition features several alumni, including Eléa Gobbé-Mévellec, the festival's Guest of Honor, and Jérémie Perin, who is premiering his feature film Mars Express.

Each year, the filmography of an animation professional is the common thread running through the program. Eléa Gobbé-Mévellec, a 2006 graduate of the Concepteur et Réalisateur de Films d'Animation program, is the guest of honor at this 22nd edition.
Co-director with Zabou Breitman of "LesHirondelles de Kaboul" in 2019, she has also worked as an animator on numerous feature films, including several directed by GOBELINS alumni "Le Jour des corneilles", directed by Jean-Christophe Dessaint, whograduated from GOBELINS in 1998, "Avril et le monde truqué" directed by Christian Desmares(class of 1998) and Franck Ekinci, "Le Sommet des Dieux" by Patrick Imbert (class of 1999), she also worked as graphic designer on the "Lastman" series directed by Jérémie Périn (class of 2000).
She will be taking part in 11 screenings all over France.

Previews of Jérémie Périn's "Mars Express
The feature-length film by Jérémie Périn (class of 2000) was screened on the opening night of the festival, October 10, in the presence of the film crew.
Other meetings and screenings are planned throughout the event, as well as a master class. This will take place on October 19 at the Cité cinema in Angoulême.

Screening of "Au-revoir Jérôme" by Chloé Farr, Gabrielle Selnet and Adam Sillard
Chloé Farr, Gabrielle Selnet and Adam Sillard's graduation film, which won awards at the Berlin Film Festival and Anima in Brussels, was screened as a preview to "Mars Express " on opening night.
The film had been selected by the event's partner L'Institut français.

Stephen Vuillemin's "Un genre de testament" in competition for the Prix Emile-Reynaud 2023
Stephen Vuillemin 's short film (class of 2008) is shortlisted for the Prix Emile-Reynaud 2023 .The film will be screened on Friday October 27 at the Mélies cinema in Montreuil, in the presence of the director.
The Prix Emile Reynaud is awarded by AFCA members to a French short film in tribute to Emile Reynaud, a pioneer of the visual arts.
The winners will receive a one-year subscription to BrefCinéma magazine and the UniversCiné platform. The winning film will also be acquired by the platform.
