Take part in Animation Production Days!
The 19th Animation Production Days (APD) will take place from Tuesday May 6 to Thursday May 8, 2025 in Stuttgart.
This platform for the European animation industry organizes meetings between producers, creators and potential financial partners.
A collaboration between FMX - Film & Media Exchange and the Stuttgart International Animation Film Festival (ITFS), the APD is the leading co-production and financing market in German-speaking countries. They provide a showcase for animation projects from all over Europe.
Producers have until February 4, 2025 to submit their projects in the following fields: film, TV series, mobile content, video games, cross and transmedia and VR.
The event offers different programs and accreditations: an accreditation for producers, a program for young talent and an accreditation for co-producers without their own project.
Producer accreditation
Producers may submit only one project per company (TV series, TV single, feature films, games, mobile content, augmented reality animation projects, short film projects). Projects must be in concept or in development, and suitable for European co-productions.
A maximum of two people may enter per company. One of these must be a producer, but any member of the creative team may also apply (author/screenwriter, creator, director, head of animation, etc.).
Producers/companies submitting a project to APD must be based in one of the 27 EU member states or in a country associated with Creative Europe Media.
APD will also consider applications from other countries if producers can provide convincing arguments that they are explicitly seeking independent co-production partners from EU countries.
Producer accreditation entitles the holder, among other things, to take part in the film market and individual meetings organized by APD, as well as conferences and round tables. It also gives access to the Stuttgart International Animation Film Festival.
The Talent Programme
The APD Talent program supports young European producers and creators in the animation sector who want to make their first project. The aim is to put newcomers in contact with recognized experts in the sector. Participants will be accompanied by an APD advisor.
The program is open to European graduates of animation schools and to professionals and company founders under the age of 35.
Applicants must have a registered address in one of the 27 EU member states or in a country associated with Creative Europe MEDIA. A maximum of two people may apply per company. One of them must be a producer; any member of the creative team may also enter.
Previous participants are not eligible to enter again.

The program includes access to 4 nights' accommodation in Stuttgart, free accreditation, participation in the film market and individual meetings organized by APD, conferences and round tables, and the Talent Speed Pitch. It also gives access to the Stuttgart International Animation Film Festival.
Accreditation for co-producers
This program is aimed at producers and studios who are not submitting a project to APD, but who wish to negotiate co-production and collaboration opportunities with the producers of selected projects.
A limited number of participants are accepted, with selection based on experience.
A maximum of two participants per company is allowed. Accreditation entitles participants to attend the film market and individual meetings organized by APD, as well as conferences and round tables. It also gives access to the Stuttgart International Animation Film Festival.
