François Schneider Foundation Contemporary Talent Competition

Organized by the François Schneider Foundation for the past 11 years, the Talents Contemporains competition aims to explore the European and international art scenes on the special theme of water. Since 2011, an original collection has been built up.

The aim of the competition is to encourage artists to "think, look, analyze and criticize, divert and use water, its properties, symbols, tools and issues".

Each year, 4 to 6 winners receive an endowment of €15,000 each to purchase their work. Production costs are also funded, up to a maximum of €50,000.

The winning projects will be acquired by the foundation and exhibited at the art center. They will also be the subject of a bilingual edition and a video presenting the work of the winners.

The competition is open to visual artists with professional experience and/or a diploma from an art school (painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, photography, video) wishing to explore the theme of water. Candidates must also have recently been exhibited and/or participated in an artist residency.
