4 calls for projects for the 2024 edition of the NewImages Festival
Organized by the Forum des Images and dedicated to immersive digital creation, the NewImages festival aims to bring together professionals and create a forum for exchange around XR. The festival also supports the production and distribution of immersive works.
In this context, the festival has launched 4 calls for projects for its next edition, which will take place from April 24 to 28, 2024:
XR competition: for all works and experiences involving immersive devices or technologies
The XR competition is open to immersive works completed before March 2024, exploring new forms of narrative and staging.
Between 10 and 20 works will be selected and presented at the festival.They will compete for four prizes, accompanied by 4 endowments ranging from €3,000 to €6,000. These prizes are awarded directly to the production.
Registration fee: 48€.
XR out of competition: for all works and experiences dealing with heritage and including immersive devices or technologies
The theme of this year's non-competitive call for projects is "Heritage" (natural, cultural, historical, tangible, intangible...). Participants are invited to bring their heritage to life through immersive experiences.
Registration fee: €15.
XR development market: for emerging talent with a project in development
The aim of the XR development marketis to contribute to the development of the immersive art industry by organizing one-to-one business meetings between project leaders and potential financiers and distributors.
Selected projects will be eligible to compete for a €1,000 prize.
The call is open to all immersive experiences exploring innovative forms of storytelling (VR360 film/work, interactive/gamified experience, game, interactive work, performance, art installation, etc.) whether in development or production phase.

XR ditribution market: for art producers and distributors
XR ditribution market: for art producers and distributors
The festival offers a program of professional meetings to best meet the needs of immersive creation project owners and programmers and distributors of XR creative works , and to encourage them to meet.
The market is open to all immersive works (film/VR360 work, game, interactive/gamified work, performance, art installation, etc.) finalized and ready for distribution in 2024 (online or physical).
