Lionel Massol guest at Format Court

The 6th edition of the Format Court Festival will take place from April 02 to 06, 2025. To mark the occasion, the festival is organizing a round-table discussion fordirectors and producers on Friday April 4on the theme of "Writing, development, networking: how to build your career and your project up to the point of applying for selective funding".

Every year, many short-film projects fail to receive the selective funding (regional, CNC...) they need to finance their films. The CNC observes, through the artistic expertise of professionals sitting on selective aid commissions, that many applications are incomplete: submission can be premature, and applications are often submitted when the script and overall planning of the project are not sufficiently developed.

During this round table, Morad Kertobi, in charge of the short film and first feature project at the CNC, will discuss with director Cristèle Alves Meira and producer Lionel Massol (graduate of the Licence professionnelle Gestion de la Production Audiovisuelle in 2008 and co-director of Films Grand Huit) who will share their personal experiences (how to apply for the first grants, how to integrate into the network, how to build your career...).

The aim of this round table is to clarify the factors that influence the chances of success of short-film projects applying for selective funding, particularly from the CNC.
