Constantin Schlachter winner of the FRUTESCENS program

Supported by the Centre photographique Rouen Normandie, the FRUTESCENS program is dedicated to young French photographers. As part of the European platform FUTURES, dedicated to the emerging European scene, the program enables 4 photographers to benefit from the European network offered by the platform and its members, as well as a week of workshops and meetings in Normandy.

Constantin Schlachter, a 2014 graduate of the Bachelor Photographer and Videographer, was selected alongside Maxime Guédaly, Sixtine de Thé and Elliott Verdier.

Named talent of the year by FOAM, with his project "La Trajectoire du Gyrovague" in 2015, Constantin Schlachter then self-published and exhibited this work in 2017 and 2018. He has also produced editorial projects for various magazines (Numero Netherland, Numero Berlin, Vogue Ukraine, Rouge Fashionbook, Vogue Arabia...) and directed fashion videos for magazines and brands.

His research explores interior and exterior landscapes. Nature, the invisible and matter are dominant entities in his work. Through his experimental approach, he puts into perspective a less anthropocentric world and a reenchantment of nature. By reversing the scales, colors and textures of the elements presented, he questions matter and its synesthetic power.
