Call for entries for a residency dedicated to comics

The Académie des Beaux-Arts has launched a call for applications for its program of artist residencies at the Bibliothèque et Villa Marmottan in Boulogne-Billancourt. The three disciplines on offer this year are painting, musical composition and comics.

Open to creators of all nationalities, living in France or abroad, this program welcomes 3 artists and includes :

• the provision of a studio/housing for a period of 10 months, from September 5, 2025 to June 30, 2026;
• a monthly grant of 1,500 euros gross;
• a production grant of up to 5,000 euros all expenses included;
• the opportunity to exchange ideas with Academy members and correspondents, as well as with artists from other residency programs.

Selected artists are also invited to take part in the cultural events organized by the Bibliothèque and Villa Marmottan.

To apply for the comics residency, you must :

• have an artistic practice in the field of comics;
• have published at least one work with a publisher;
• have a comic book project in progress;
• be the sole authors of the project (script and drawing).

Applications are open until May 11, 2025.
