Call for applications for the Elles & Cité project by the Cité internationale des arts

It's back to school time, and the calls for applications and projects are back!

Aimed at mid-career women photographers , this residency and research program initiated by Cité internationale des arts, with the support of the French Ministry of Culture, is designed to counter the gradual drop-out of women from the profession.According to INSEE, the percentage of women photographers falls from 38% to 21% after the age of 40.

As the main aim of the program is to " facilitate mobility and support the search for and expansion of professional networks for women photographers", the call for applications is reserved exclusively for candidates living outside the Ile-de-France region and not already represented by a Parisian gallery .To take part, you must also be able to show proof of at least 10 years' professional experience.

6 prizewinners will be selected at the end of this call for applications. They will benefit from special support, a three-month residency in Paris and professional networking.

The deadline for applications is September 17, 2023.
