Denis Do's "Sorya" awarded at CEE Animation Forum

Sorya, a feature film in development directed by Denis Do (a 2009 graduate of the Animation Film Designer and Director course) won special mention at the CEE Animation Forum, held in Pilsen, Czech Republic last week. 

The CEE Animation Forum is the leading regional pitching, financing and co-production event. It aims to boost the projects´ international potential, visibility and their access to a wider European market.

Sorya, a young Cambodian peasant woman, arrives in the city to work in a factory and support her family, which has just been expropriated from its land. A sensual and musical initiation story in the nights of Pnomh Penh, where the voice of our heroine is lost and revealed to the sound of Cambodian rock guitars. The portrait of a youth caught between traditions and her desire for emancipation.
