A 2015 graduate of the Master in Character Animation and Animated Filmmaking, Mansoureh Kamari is a character designer and illustrator.
Her first comic book, " Ces lignes qui tracent mon corps ", was published by Casterman on September 10.
This autobiographical tale uses alternating black and white, interspersed with shades of red and flesh, to retrace the author's childhood and adolescence under the yoke of Islamic law in Iran.
Oscillating between the present and her memories of her life in Tehran, Mansoureh Kamari delivers a striking and intimate account of the condition of women in Iran, and of her metamorphosis after escaping the regime and permanent oppression.

In Iran, according to Islamic law, the father of a family is the owner of his children's blood, so he cannot be criminally prosecuted for harming his offspring. This is one of the reasons behind the construction of Iranian society, where men have full power, particularly over women, with complete impunity. Mansoureh Kamari recalls her childhood and adolescence under this male yoke.
