Jean-Michel André wins the Prix Nadar Gens d'images 2024
Congratulations to Jean-Michel André, winner of the 70th Prix Nadar Gens d'images for his photographic book Chambre 207 , published by Éditions Actes Sud.
Organized and awarded by the association Les Gens d'images since 1955, the Prix Nadar honors a book devoted to photography published in the past year by a French publisher. 117 books were submitted to the jury for this 2024 edition.
Jean-Michel André, who graduated from the photography and video training program in 2001, was exhibited at the Bibliothèque National de France last spring, as part of the major photojournalism commission.
" Chambre 207" is an autofictional photographic project that reconstructs the photographer's lost memories following a traumatic childhood experience. Photography thus becomes a tool for reconstruction.
An eponymous exhibition accompanies the book, on view at Lille's Hospice Comtesse museum until February 2, 2025.
