The Student Academy Awards were created in 1972 by the Academy of the Oscars.

Divided into four categories (experimental, animation, documentary and narrative) they award three medals in each (gold, silver and bronze).

Directed by Sara Antonio, Julia Grupińska, Bokang Koatja, Ezequiel Garibay Cires and Tian Westraad (Master in Character Animation and Animated Filmmaking, Class of 2023), the film won the Best Student Short Film Award at the Animayo festival last May.

This prize enabled the team to qualify for the semi-finals.

Chava, a Mexican mechanic, is about to have his precious car repossessed when he receives the unexpected visit from Nacho, his long-abandoned son.

Congratulations to the whole team, and see you in mid-September for the next stage of the selection process!

Love it
