The 2026 edition of the Festival national du film d'animation will take place from April 7 to 12 in Rennes.

 

A showcase for French animation, the festival has been a must-attend event for professionals and amateurs alike since 1983. Its program combines competition films and thematic panoramas.

 

The call for entries is divided into 5 categories: student short films, professional short films, music videos, home-made films and workshop films.

 

 

 

Student short films

The call is open to films made as part of studies within a training or teaching structure, excluding exercises and demo tapes.

 

Deadline for entries: Monday, November 24, 2025.

 

 

 

Professional short films

The call is open to films produced by a production company and films made in residence.

 

Application deadline: Monday, November 24, 2025.

 

 

 

The clips

This category is open to music videos (commissioned or not).

 

Deadline for entries: Monday, January 5, 2026.

 

 

 

Home movies

This category includes all self-produced films.

 

Deadline for entries: Monday, January 5, 2026.

 

 

 

Workshop films
