Organized by the CENTQUATRE and the Tara Océan Foundation from November 16, 2024 to March 02, 2025, the exhibition"La Grande expédition"explores environmental, societal and poetic issues related to the Ocean.

Divided into four main themes: living things, pollution, landscapes and the sensitive, the exhibition features paintings, sculptures, photographs, audiovisual and sound installations created during artistic residencies aboard the schooner.

Manon Lanjouère, who graduated from the Bachelor Photographe et vidéaste program in 2017, is one of 40 artists invited to look at the Ocean, its biodiversity and its role in the climate machine.

Embarked in 2021 on a mission on microbiomes, between Salvador de Bahia and Rio de Janeiro, she has produced the "Les Particules" series.Through cyanotypes on glass and sculptures representing microorganisms, created from plastic materials (cotton buds, pieces of plastic bottles, coffee stirrers...), she tells the human tale of dying water.

This project has already received support from the Agnès b Foundation and the Tara Ocean Foundation, as well as the Photography and Science prize at the 1+2 residency.

"I saw the microplastics mixing with the microorganisms. Tara was a turning point for me. I live in Brittany and have a crazy love for the sea. I couldn't figure out how I could integrate this mad love into my artistic practice. But now I know.I'm a militant artist.

Manon also designed the exhibition poster.
