Call for projects for the "Première Page" collection

In association with France Télévisions , SCALAÉ Productions is launching the 3rd season of the PREMIÈRE PAGE collection, which aims to highlight the talent of young French animation artists while paying tribute to French-language literature.

Since 2023, PREMIÈRE PAGE has enabled young directors who have recently graduated from RECA schools to offer an animated interpretation of pages from French-language literary works. The program is then broadcast on France Télévisions.

Mariia Yanko (class of 2022) took part in the first season with "La princesse de Babylone", based on Voltaire's tale.

This third season pays tribute to Colette. Eight directors will be invited to draw on a wide range of texts (pages from novels, short stories, newspaper articles, correspondence, etc.) to offer an animated interpretation of a text from the writer's oeuvre.

The call for projects is open to students graduating from RECA schools in 2024 or 2025 only. Films must be no longer than three minutes and be aimed at all audiences.

The 8 selected directors will work under a contract of employment and professional remuneration. They will also benefit from a writing and development residency at theRoyal Abbey of Fontevraud fromFriday July 25 to Friday August 29, 2025. Film production and post-production is scheduled from December 2025 to May 2026.

The deadline for applications is 5:00 pm on Friday, April 25, 2025.
