3 Villa Valmont calls for applications

Located in the Bordeaux region, Villa Valmont is an artist residency dedicated to writing.

 

Residencies cover a wide range of fields: writing for feature-length documentaries, fiction and animation, as well as ceramic and creative writing projects.

 

Residencies are open to writers who have already produced works in their respective fields. Projects must include a period of research and creation. Candidates may be accompanied by a collaborator for a maximum period of 15 days.

 

Each of the three residencies comes with a grant of €500 gross per week. Travel and accommodation costs are covered.

 

For residencies of 3 to 4 weeks, prizewinners must devote up to 30% of their time to mediation activities (workshops, public meetings, etc.).Candidates may be accompanied by a collaborator for a maximum period of 15 days.

 

 

 

Feature-length documentary writing residency:

Running from October 13 to November 12, 2025, and lasting from 1 week to 1 month, the competition is open to professionals who have already made at least one documentary film (short, single or feature-length) for television, the web, online platforms or cinema.

 

 

 



Feature film writing residency:

The residency will take place between June 2 and July 2, 2025, and will last from 1 week to 1 month. Applicants must have already directed at least one feature film (short, single or full-length) for television, the web, online platforms or cinema.

 

 

 



Writing residency for feature-length animated films

The residency will take place between April 18 and May 18, 2025, and will last from 1 week to 1 month. It is open to directors who have already made at least one animated film (short, single or feature) for television, the web, online platforms or cinema.

 

 

 

 

 

The deadline for applications is noon on Monday, December 2, 2024.
